Broad Run Farms Civic Association Community Scholarship Application

The Broad Run Farms Civic Association (BRFCA) Community Scholarship recognizes high-character students from the Broad Run Farms neighborhood who demonstrate community service, leadership, and academic effort. Awards support recipients as they pursue post-secondary education at an accredited two- or four-year college, trade/technical school, or apprenticeship program.

Eligibility:

Students must be:

• A high school senior living in Broad Run Farms

• Someone who has participated in at least two Broad Run Farms–sponsored community projects prior to completing this application

• Attending a college in the United States in the fall of 2026

• Willing to attend the Broad Run Farms Community event to receive the scholarship if chosen

• From a family that is a member in good standing with the Broad Run Farms Civic Association, meaning dues are paid for the current year and the previous year

  
  

Application Upload Requirements

As part of your application, please provide the following:

• Personal Essay: In 1,000 words or less (no more than two printed pages or approximately 6,000 characters), tell the scholarship committee about yourself. Focus on your most notable qualities, what it means to you to live in Broad Run Farms, and examples of your demonstrated leadership ability. Attach your essay as a separate document. Tip: Carefully proof your essay—well-crafted shorter essays are especially admired.

• Letters of Recommendation: Submit two letters of recommendation from individuals who are not family members.
